Oh the diapers….I am not sleeping much. She doesn’t like to have anything on her legs when she sleeps and it only took me until about 3:30 am last night to figure it out. Then she slept tucked in the crook of my arm–which means I couldn’t sleep. Needless to say that I haven’t gotten much sleep since Monday. But she is so cute and amazing and I am so very tired. I think I said that already.
Tomorrow we go to Nazret and it should be a great trip. I look forward to finding more out about our little baby.
This time is so different. She is so different from her brother and it is like having to learn a person all over again. I am having to learn what she likes and doesn’t. I am not doing that great at figuring it out yet and that I sure has to do with the fact that I am so exhausted I can barely see straight.
I will hopefully have time to do a more in-depth post tomorrow.
Danielle and other EOR members. I managed to spend all the money. That store was awesome and I could have easily spent about 3 times the money I had. I was slightly overwhelmed with the choice and really had a hard time knowing what to buy. My taste in jewelry is very simple. I bought what I think would sell well. More on that later.
Well Peepers is crying and my dad is doing his best to not let us disturb everyone is the business center. More later.
Yea! Another post! You’ll figure her out eventually–and yes, the sleep deprivation thing doesn’t help :). I’m excited to hear about Nazret–I don’t really know anything about that area yet. I’m glad you spent the money and I’m glad Porter’s shop was such a hit! Don’t tell Kim, she’ll buy the place out next summer when we’re all in Addis, lol (just kidding, Kimmie!). I can’t wait to see what you bought. We only bought tribal jewelry while there, I never stumbled upon regular stuff.
Have you tried sleeping with her on your chest? That seemed to work well with Brayson when he was super needy, and we were actually able to get some sleep, too. Hang in there! I want pictures!!! No pressure.

Hang in there, Dawn. Early baby days are precious but completely draining! I had to laugh about her sleeping in the crook of your arm, as Teeny has insisted on this since our first day together, too. Actually, he first would only sleep on top of me. But he grew so huge so quickly that I could hardly breathe like that, so he had to move to my husband’s chest for a while. Somewhere between 25 and 30 lbs, he decided he would settle for the crook of our left arms. At bedtime, he tells us now, “Need this arm!” We’ve become pretty tricky about sliding our arm out from under him once he’s out, as we don’t sleep very well pinned on our backs by a giant toddler either!
Give Peepers a huge hug for us. I’m so happy for you to have a daughter!

Congrats on successful shopping.
And man I know what you are feeling now – was in the throes of extreme sleep deprivation until very very recently. Just have faith that it really is temporary – you will sleep again! 🙂

Gracie and I did a lot of sleeping squished up on the love seat in our Hilton hotel room in those first few days in Addis. Something about the bed or crib just didn’t appeal to her. Of course, we also spent a lot of time in the bath together, as she kept puking on me.
It is kind of like a dance with each new baby. They definitely come preprogramed with their own likes and dislikes. Unfortunately, they don’t come with an owner’s manual. No Fair!!

So happy to see your post. Sleep deprivation is so hard. Were thinking of you!
Glad to hear that Porter’s shopping place was fun! Can’t wait to see what you purchased for EOR. Yes Danielle is right I will probably go crazy at that store next summer! She knows me well…..
Look forward to hearing about your visit to Nazret.

So very embarrassed that I haven’t checked in until now. Very excited that you made it safely to sweet Peepers and that you spent the money. Huzzah! Oh, and welcome home, because, well, now you are back!
