I’m Dawn.  I am a mother to two amazing kids from Ethiopia, a perpetual student (now that my Ph.D. is done, I’m a student informally), a wife/widow (as of 8/31/19), a friend, a daughter, and a sister.  I am also an over-achiever who has a need to be involved in everything.

I teach, read, and write, and I stay active in my kids lives spend much of my free-time driving my kids to all of their activities and social engagements.  I have always longed/tried to have it all–but now I have learned to live in the moment and cherish what I have.   I am married widowed after an amazing almost 20 year marriage to an incredible man–who made me even consider marriage for the first time in my life.  He is was a born and breed California boy now residing in the midwest and he lovesd it, but will hate for eternity that he died in Missouri.  He is was an amazing man–intelligent, funny, caring, honest and well he lovesd me and that makes him tops in my book. We have nothing but amazing and happy memories and the kids and I will cherish those for the rest of our lives.

My kids are now 17 and 15 (I never remember to update this very often) and they are perfecting their ability to drive me crazy–there perfecting teen and tween attitudes.  But it’s awesome.

I am so many other things, but what has led me to this new site and this new persona is that I have finally embraced this little and quite well known fact–I am imperfect.  I have finally come to grips with that last little piece.
