I Couldn’t Have Said It Better

Andi wrote this amazing post about women, motherhood and equality.  It speaks to me as a woman, wife and mother.  It has helped me accept that what I want is what is best for my child and that society has such a long way to go before we have any real semblance of male/female equality.  Thanks Andi.

Stop back by and let me know what you thought about her post.

I Don’t Want Bows or Flowers

I have been searching for little headbands for my bald baby Peepers.  I know her hair will grow back and there is no doubting that she is a girl–if only you could see the awesome clothes that she has.  I think headbands are cute–but I am sorry to say that the only ones I have been able to find are hideously frilly.  I don’t want big bows (or any bows for that matter) or flowers or fluffy stuff hanging off of them.  I am not a girlie girl and while I have bought Peepers plenty of girlie girlie clothes, I can’t stand the idea of putting a headband on her that is all girlie.  I want some fun and funky headbands/wraps.

What have you all been able to find?  Where are all the funky clothes/accessories?

Ethiopian Orphan Relief, Inc

If you want to help the efforts to help orphans who remain in Ethiopia please check out Ethiopian Orphan Relief.  EOR is an non-profit charity created by adoptive mothers of Ethiopian children as a way to significantly give back to Ethiopia and honor our children’s heritage. Our store is now live and it has an amazing selection of awesome Ethiopian goods–clothing, jewelry (which is beautiful), and house decorations.  Please check it out and consider donating to our efforts for the orphans of Ethiopia. If you don’t see anything you’d like, consider making a donation–one time or recurring.  Thanks for your support.
