It has been pure chaos here at Casa de Minnow y Peepers. Minnow is not so sure about this whole baby sister thing. He wouldn’t really look at her at all on Saturday and has slowly been warming up to her a little bit. A very little bit. At this rate, by the time she goes away to college he’ll have fully accepted her.
She is teething and it is excruciating. She has been crying for hours today non-stop and isn’t sleep which means I am not sleeping. So, I am very very crabby and very very tired. And I don’t have anything really positive to say right now. I have been told that Minnow was just as bad when he was teething, etc. But I don’t remember that at all. That must be why I was so excited to have another kid. I hope to have some time (aka-energy) tomorrow to post pictures, etc.
We are going to the Dr. tomorrow–Peepers came home with and ear infection and a rash. It’s been really really fun around here. More positive and happy updates forthcoming. I promise. Okay, I don’t promise, but I certainly hope.
Sending positive energy your way! It WILL get better – it will happen – just like the beautiful dream of Minnow and Peepers has come true!! It will, it will!

Thanks for a view of what’s coming my way in a few weeks! Thinking of you & hoping that the pediatrician helps little Peepers feel better soon.

Oh, muffin. I’m sorry. And I’m thinking about you! Amelie broke her collarbone the night we came home with her baby brother (need attention much?). And Bryan swore up and down that Amelie “never” woke up at night like Brayson did when she first came home…to which I said, “Um, dude. She doesn’t reliably sleep through the night now.”
Riiiiiight. Selective memory! Or, as my MIL says, at least they’re cute! Otherwise you’d kill ’em. True.
Hang in there 🙂

Oh Dawn! Hang in there….this is Survival Mode Time, as my husband calls it. Its so hard when baby is so not playing the bundle of joy part. I feel for you, I really, really do. Wish I was closer to offer a fresh set of arms. Hopefully clearing up the ear infection will help. Mine were always most dreadful during those.

Oh how I feel your pain. Let me know if you need a break or a cookie or an alcoholic beverage or two 🙂 There are days I still feel my life is as crazy as it was for those first few months. But those days are getting a little farther apart… Although today was one—actually I’ll email you 🙂

Two words for you (if you haven’t tried them) TEETHING TABLETS. I discovered these little gems (thanks to some experienced parents) for Alijah and they seemed to help more than the teething gels. They are natural & you place them under the tongue where they desolve fast. Or, you could dab a washcloth in whiskey for her to chew on (down a shot yourself while your at it)…half kidding here, but that is what my mom used on me as per the pediatrician’s recommendation. Perhaps that’s why I partied a little too hard in college. ;o)
Anyways, it will get better…have Minnow participate in her care when you can and take advantage of when Peepers finally sleeps to spend extra time with him doing something he loves (after you are all caught up of course). In the meantime don’t beat yourself up if you find Minnow is watching more TV than usual (this was a reality for us in the beginning of adjusting to 2).
