Going Legit

Today, I had my first series of Mini Photo Shoots for families/kids in my mom’s group.  I did 30-45 min shoots for each and they’ll all get a CD with 8-10 photos (w/reprint rights) and the option to order more photos at a nominal fee for each.  It went pretty well.  The weather held out for us and it ended up being sunny.  Which isn’t all that great as the park is pretty open and direct sunlight isn’t really the photographers friend.  I think I dealt with the sun well and it feels good to have the first set of these out of the way.  I took about 1500 photos and I am excited to look at them and see what I got and hope that they are good.  It feels good to now being a professional–i can call myself that now that I have been paid, have a website and business cards.

Tomorrow morning at 5am my husband is leaving me to be the sole parent to our two lovely children until Friday at 11pm.  I am not looking forward to it and hope the rest of this day moves really slowly.

  1. I’m glad your first shoot went well!

Let me know if you want to get out of the house this week – we’d love to see you guys. I have a two year old over on Tuesdays so if you’re free that day – let me know. I have to get out of the house when I have both kids (this does not bode well for the future 🙂 ).

  2. As a fellow adoptive parent, I thought to write and tell you about the new guest home in Ethiopia specifically for adoptive parents and volunteer groups for the benefit of orphans in Ethiopia. Now that it is up and running, we would love to share the vision with other adoptive parents. You can see more at http://www.ethiopiaguesthome.com.

If you would like to post a link, send me an email at dave@ethiopiaguesthome.com and I’ll forward you the information.
